[[When I create fractioned and distorted images of myself behind a translucent screen, once again I relate to the pandemic times we live in. There is this repetitive effort to conform skin and identity. One can never picture the whole, as if something is always escaping.

I cannot properly see neither be seen through the glazing. It is pointless to open my eyes. With TAKE YOUR PILLS series I reflect about the pharmaceutical industry and quotidian drugs intake that skyrocketed due to physical urban confinement. Pills for compulsion, depression, anxiety, obsessions. Tablets to sleep, to wake up, to function, to smile, to produce, to reproduce, to slow down, to think fast, to stop thinking, to obey, to follow a command. And the command is repeated, repeated.///Quando crio uma sequência de imagens fragmentadas e distorcidas de mim mesma atrás de uma película translúcida, habito um esforço repetitivo de conformar pele e identidade. Nunca é possível se enxergar o todo, como se algo estivesse sempre escapando. Ao fim, através da veladura, torna-se inútil abrir os olhos.

A série TAKE YOUR PILLS nasce de uma reflexão sobre a industria farmacêutica e a constante ingestão de medicamentos na urbe contemporânea. Usamos comprimidos para compulsão, depressão, ansiedade, obsessões. Pílulas para dormir, acordar, funcionar, sorrir, produzir, reproduzir, desacelerar, pensar rápido, parar de pensar, obedecer, seguir um comando. O comando se repete, repete. ]]
